B-Sharp Music Wellness, A W.O.N.D.E.R. Project

Finding harmony around us and within us is a thread that runs through all of the Rob and Melani Walton Foundation’s (RMWF) work, binding together partners and individuals to bring life to possibility and make it matter. Harmony comes to life through B-Sharp Music Wellness, A W.O.N.D.E.R. Project, bringing the intangible benefits of music and sound to the tangible impact of healing and stress alleviation for those experiencing homelessness, those who are hospitalized, and individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

This collaboration has expanded community outreach from delivering therapeutic music services at four partner organizations in 2013 to ten in 2018, including an Alzheimer’s research initiative with Arizona State University. In conjunction with these community partners, more than 19,000 hospitalized patients, seniors living with Alzheimer’s, and homeless adults and youth participate in the program annually, including those being served by St. Vincent de Paul. By seeing unseen opportunities for healing, B-Sharp Music Wellness, A W.O.N.D.E.R. Project, is reducing stress levels, researching the impact of music therapy, and creating greater harmony in the Phoenix community.
